Junior Underwriter (Commercial Insurance)

Pay range: $21.35–$31.25 hourly

What you will do

• Learn and apply underwriting guidelines, policies, and risk assessment criteria.
• Review insurance applications, verify information, and evaluate potential risks.
• Gather and analyze applicant background data, risk factors, and other relevant information.
• Support experienced underwriters in assessing risks for individuals and businesses.
• Assist with developing insurance policies and products for specific markets or industries.
• Communicate with agents, brokers, and clients to clarify information related to underwriting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in risk assessment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Basic knowledge of insurance principles and practices is preferred.

Nice to have

• Bilingual English/Mandarin communication skills.
• Previous insurance experience or related coursework.
