Senior Software Engineer, Marketplace (Ruby on Rails)

Location: Remote — United States, Canada, or Mexico

What you will do

• Plan, design, and implement marketplace features connecting fleets with maintenance shops.
• Build functionality for service scheduling, approvals, transactions, billing, and fleet data entry.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and Quality Engineers.
• Design and review architecture, research technical approaches, and create prototypes or spikes.
• Deliver well-tested, maintainable, performant code and review peer contributions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of Ruby on Rails experience.
• 2+ years of ReactJS and TypeScript experience.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience integrating external systems, APIs, and webhooks, along with data modeling and query performance optimization.
• Strong communication, system design, architectural problem-solving, and unit testing skills.

Nice to have

• Marketplace development experience.
• Experience leading small teams or projects.
• Experience building products that use LLMs to analyze user data.
• Fleet management industry experience.
• Experience building APIs for consumer or mobile applications.
