Senior Thin Film Metrology Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Hybrid work model with on-site work at hirify.global sites in Phoenix, Arizona, or Hillsboro, Oregon, United States.

What you will do

• Drive thin film metrology execution for 18A technology, including recipe development, process qualification, production support, tool ownership, and technical problem solving.
• Perform statistical and data-mining analysis to identify parametric mismatches, assess OCD model integrity, and resolve yield-impacting issues.
• Develop and implement metrology models that provide precise feedback on product integrity and process performance.
• Guide process monitoring, tool matching, metrology optimization, sampling strategies, and tool readiness.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives, factory task forces, and design-of-experiments activities for new product introductions.
• Collaborate with Technology Development, Yield, Process Integration, and fab module teams while aligning best practices across global manufacturing fabs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering or science field.
• 4+ years of experience with thin film metrology techniques, applications, and interaction with high-volume manufacturing.
• 4+ years of experience in advanced-node semiconductor manufacturing, development, or high-volume manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of data analysis and statistics.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration skills in matrixed organizations.
• Ability to work under the hybrid model at an assigned hirify.global site in the United States.

Nice to have

• Postgraduate degree in a relevant engineering or science field.
• Experience with OCD model development.
• Exposure to machine learning.
