Crypto Onchain Attorney (Web3)

Location: Hybrid role based in Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; or Washington, DC, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

Base pay: $187,000–$220,000 USD annually for Zone 1 locations. Other compensation zones include $165,000–$194,000 for Zone 2 and $146,000–$172,000 for Zone 3.

What you will do

• Serve as product counsel for onchain products from concept through launch.
• Advise Product, Engineering, and Compliance on legal and regulatory risks for new features and multi-jurisdictional launches.
• Review and edit commercial contracts supporting partnerships.
• Align legal strategy across the onchain product suite and business lines.
• Track crypto regulatory developments and translate them into practical guidance.
• Develop legal frameworks supporting expansion into new onchain markets and products.

Requirements

• Background in securities, derivatives, or financial services law, with experience in crypto-focused work in-house or at a law firm.
• 4+ years of relevant legal experience, including substantive work advising on self-custody wallets, decentralized exchanges, or tokenized assets.
• Experience operating across jurisdictions where regulatory guidance is developing.
• Ability to explain legal and regulatory concepts clearly to Product and Engineering partners.
• Ability to balance legal risk with the pace of a fast-moving product organization.
• Experience using current AI tools for legal research and drafting.
