Mechanical Engineer (Robotics)

Salary: $175,950–$253,000 annually plus equity

What you will do

• Design and release lightweight structural components and assemblies for NEO's robotic hands.
• Integrate actuators, electronics, mechanisms, sensors, wiring, and thermal hardware within tight mechanical envelopes.
• Use structural FEA, first-principles analysis, optimization, and physical testing to guide design decisions.
• Drive hardware from concept and prototyping through validation, production release, and continuous improvement.
• Apply DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, and cost optimization for high-volume manufacturing.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, firmware, robotics, materials, test, manufacturing, suppliers, and production partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of experience designing integrated mechanical systems, mechanisms, or electromechanical assemblies with significant packaging constraints.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as Onshape, SolidWorks, Creo, NX, CATIA, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with structural FEA, mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
• Experience creating engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and engineering change documentation.
• Strong prototyping, testing, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with robotic hardware including actuators, gear trains, bearings, sensors, and cable routing.
• Experience with reliability testing, failure analysis, and root-cause investigations.
• Hands-on experience building, assembling, modifying, and troubleshooting mechanical and electromechanical hardware.
