Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (with RNFA) - Neurosurgery (AI)

Location: McHenry, Huntley, Woodstock, and Lake Forest, Illinois; hybrid clinical role with inpatient, outpatient, and in-person OR duties

Salary: $61.00–$79.67 per hour

What you will do

• Provide direct clinical care across ambulatory, inpatient, and neurosurgery settings.
• Round on an inpatient census of approximately 10–20 patients and share weekday outpatient clinic coverage.
• Serve as first assist in the operating room for elective, add-on, and emergent neurosurgical cases.
• Conduct assessments, diagnose and manage health conditions, order medications and diagnostic tests, and coordinate referrals.
• Educate patients, families, staff, and students while serving as a clinical mentor and preceptor.
• Participate in quality improvement, research, committees, and continuing education initiatives.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited nursing or physician assistant program.
• Acute care certification for APRNs, unless qualifying inpatient NP experience is accepted in lieu of certification.
• First Assist Certification required for all APRNs.
• Current Illinois RN/APRN license and APRN certification, or current Illinois Physician Assistant license.
• Credentialing and privileging through the hirify.global Medical Staff Office.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Culture & Benefits

• Full-time schedule of five 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with rotating night, weekend, and holiday call.
• Weekend call occurs in a 1:5 rotation and includes approximately 2–4 hours of onsite rounding.
• Overnight call occurs in a 1:5 rotation from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m.; a stipend is provided.
