Senior Manager, Mergers and Acquisitions

Location: Falls Church, Virginia, United States; travel as needed to research markets and meet with prospective acquisition targets.

Base salary: $115,000–$165,000 per year, with performance-based bonuses and a total benefits package.

What you will do

• Research and map U.S. markets, regions, and industry verticals to identify acquisition opportunities.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of acquisition targets using public records, industry databases, licensing data, trade publications, and direct outreach.
• Develop market maps, competitive landscapes, target profiles, and investment theses covering strategic fit, competitive positioning, risk, and preliminary financials.
• Present research findings and recommendations to operations executives, finance, and senior leadership.
• Coordinate due diligence on prioritized targets with executive leadership and corporate resource departments.
• Build repeatable research methodologies, screening criteria, and tools as the M&A function scales.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; business, finance, or economics concentration preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in M&A, corporate development, private equity, investment banking, or management consulting.
• Experience independently researching markets or companies and producing clear, decision-ready analysis.
• Strong financial acumen, including evaluating financial position and valuation drivers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint, and industry research databases.
• Strong written and verbal communication, structured thinking, sound business judgment, ownership, organization, and cross-functional collaboration.
