TL;DR

Location: Residential role in Waihi, New Zealand; 7-on/7-off roster with 12-hour day and night shifts.

What you will do
- Support the underground mining team in achieving development and production targets.
- Complete an eight-week training programme covering underground induction, emergency procedures, nipper duties, truck operation, and standard operating procedures.
- Deliver personnel and equipment to job sites, manage supplies, and assist Jumbo Operators.
- Assist with face setup, underground housekeeping, and understanding mine layouts and ground conditions.
- Perform equipment pre-start and shutdown checks and operate equipment during day and night shifts.
- Support the training and safe development of other mine operators through on-the-job guidance.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in New Zealand.
- Full Class 1 driver licence; ability to drive manual vehicles is essential.
- Good physical fitness and willingness to complete medical, functional fitness, background, and drug and alcohol checks.
- Reliability, strong work ethic, good communication, initiative, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong commitment to safety and knowledge of equipment operation; mechanical aptitude is required.
- Previous mining equipment experience is advantageous but not essential.
Nice to have
- First Aid Certificate.
- Previous experience operating equipment in a mining environment.
