Senior Avionics Automation Test Engineer I (Python)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. Onsite work at hirify.global's global headquarters; U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements and ITAR restrictions.

Base salary: $95,200–$130,900 USD annually. Total compensation including equity: $115,475–$166,575 USD annually.

What you will do

• Develop automated testing software supporting avionics and satellite test programs.
• Collaborate with hardware design engineers on efficient acceptance and qualification testing strategies.
• Support the design and development of spaceflight hardware for improved testability and manufacturability.
• Support and improve manufacturing and production software tools.
• Contribute to engineering, test, and business processes supporting company growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or another technical discipline.
• 5+ years of Python programming experience with mid- or large-scale applications.
• 5+ years of experience in electronics test engineering, spacecraft systems engineering, or hardware development.
• Experience developing software on Linux.
• Understanding of electrical test equipment, test procedures, data acquisition systems, and instrumentation.
• U.S. citizenship or other eligibility to access ITAR-regulated technology is required.

Nice to have

• Space industry experience in spacecraft integration or testing.
• Experience with TCP/UDP, serial communication, or similar protocols.
• Experience with pytest, Robot Framework, or other software unit-testing tools.
• Experience in hardware or spacecraft production environments.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
