Manager, Staff Counsel - Milwaukee, WI

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin; hybrid schedule with required onsite work in the WI Staff Counsel office

What you will do

• Manage Staff Counsel office activities involving liability defense, UM/UIM, PIP, and subrogation lawsuits and arbitrations.
• Represent hirify.global insureds in liability cases and handle matters on behalf of hirify.global in Missouri courts.
• Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, memoranda, pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Defend assigned matters through trials, arbitrations, and mediations, and attend hearings, depositions, meetings, and conferences.
• Interview and supervise attorneys, conduct performance reviews, manage personnel actions, and monitor bar and CLE requirements.
• Review office reports and implement improvements to file handling and office results.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree.
• Active Wisconsin law license in good standing and compliance with applicable CLE requirements.
• At least 7 years of litigation experience, including insurance defense or personal injury.
• Management experience.
• Ability to travel for trials, hearings, arbitrations, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.
