Claims Manager (Professional Liability)

What you will do

• Manage active and litigated professional liability and medical malpractice claims.
• Track, review, analyze, and update Corporate Counsel on open matters and claim strategy.
• Support claim investigations, compensability determinations, action plans, reserve requests, and file quality reviews.
• Collaborate with outside counsel, insurance representatives, and medical and legal specialists to resolve claims.
• Ensure compliance with state regulatory requirements and analyze settlement authority requests.
• Attend mediations and trials and participate in settlement negotiations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience adjusting professional liability claims.
• Strong knowledge of claim-handling policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with claims across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience working with a third-party administrator (TPA).
• Experience with litigation and settlement negotiations.
• Ability to manage a high volume of matters in a fast-paced environment; a JD is preferred.
