Strategy & Operations Lead, FDE (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; hybrid work with staff expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time

What you will do

• Own annual and quarterly planning for Forward Deployed Engineering, including headcount, hiring, capacity, utilization, and engagement mix.
• Build demand, capacity, and staffing models and use them to support hiring and prioritization decisions.
• Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews, define KPIs, maintain the scorecard, and prepare leadership materials.
• Build reporting systems with Revenue Operations and Data Science to measure launches, product consumption, expansion, and reusable delivery patterns.
• Shape engagement pricing, packaging, discounts, contracts, and portfolio economics with Finance, Deal Desk, and Legal.
• Develop partner delivery models, organization design plans, cross-functional processes, and Claude-powered models, dashboards, and workflows.

Requirements

• Experience in strategy and operations, business operations, strategic finance, or consulting, including work with professional services, implementation, solutions engineering, or forward deployed teams.
• Understanding of services-business economics, including utilization, staffing mix, rates, backlog, margin, and customer outcomes.
• Ability to build capacity or staffing models from scratch, work directly with data, and use SQL.
• Experience running planning cycles and business reviews for senior leaders and writing the associated materials.
• Ability to turn ambiguous questions into recommendations, decisions, and repeatable processes while influencing senior technical and commercial leaders.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience; required study must be relevant to the role.

Nice to have

• 10+ years in GTM strategy and operations, business operations, or consulting.
• Experience scaling professional services or FDE operations, delivery partner programs, services pricing, statements of work, or deal terms.
• Experience with consumption-based businesses, LLM applications, agents, evals, MCP, Salesforce, or professional services automation tools.
• Experience at an AI, cloud, or developer infrastructure company and preparing executive or board materials.
