Associate Director Compliance Technical Risk (AI)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, USA; onsite five days per week at 8505 IBM Drive. No relocation is offered.

Salary: $171,000–$256,400 USD annually

AT&T is a communications and technology company with a Chief Security Office responsible for protecting enterprise assets and managing cybersecurity risk.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise compliance programs covering SOX, PCI, HIPAA, ISO, SOC, and related regulatory requirements.
• Manage the full lifecycle of nearly 40 audits annually, including planning, evidence collection, control testing, remediation, and execution.
• Act as the primary liaison for control owners, business stakeholders, external auditors, and regulatory organizations.
• Provide executive reporting on audit progress, compliance risks, remediation, and program performance.
• Lead governance initiatives, issue escalation, and control-owner accountability across the enterprise.
• Develop compliance automation, adopt ServiceNow GRC, and drive AI governance and AI-enabled efficiency improvements.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in cybersecurity, technical risk management, IT compliance, audit management, or a related field.
• Experience leading teams and complex cross-functional compliance or risk programs.
• Strong knowledge of IT control frameworks, regulatory compliance, audit methodologies, and risk management.
• Experience managing external auditors, consulting engagements, contracts, budgets, and project timelines.
• Excellent stakeholder influence, leadership, communication, and executive presentation skills.
• Experience applying AI and automation in cybersecurity, compliance, audit, or risk management.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with SOX, PCI, HIPAA, ISO, SOC, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with GRC platforms, especially ServiceNow GRC.
• CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, or related professional certification.
• Program management and organizational transformation experience.
