Security/ATO Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States only; must support US Eastern time zone working hours. Foreign work locations and foreign IP addresses are blocked, and personal VPN connections are prohibited. Reston, Virginia is listed as the office location.

Salary: $98,614–$167,644 annually for full-time employment.

What you will do

• Translate security requirements into engineering and documentation tasks.
• Coordinate security control evidence, assessments, findings, and remediation tracking.
• Review architectures, configurations, code-quality results, and test evidence for security concerns.
• Partner with developers and DevSecOps personnel to address vulnerabilities and secure delivery pipelines.
• Maintain security risks, issues, decisions, and authorization artifacts.
• Support client reviews, status reporting, and authorization-readiness activities.

Requirements

• Must reside in the United States, be authorized to work in the United States, and perform all work in the United States.
• Must have lived in the United States for three full years out of the last five years.
• US citizenship and the ability to pass a Public Trust background check are required.
• At least five years of experience supporting federal information-system security, assessment, or authorization activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information systems, or a related field; directly related experience may substitute for education.
• Experience documenting and tracking security controls, evidence, findings, and remediation actions.
• Knowledge of secure software development, vulnerability management, security testing, Agile delivery, and CI/CD security controls.
• Relevant federal security, cloud, or information-assurance certification.
