Medical Assistant - Cardiology Full Time Days (Cardiology)

Location: Lake Forest Hospital, 1000 N. Westmoreland, Lake Forest, Illinois, United States. Full-time onsite position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Salary: USD 19.13–25.83 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare patients for examinations, obtain vital signs, update medical information, and support efficient patient flow.
• Assist physicians and nurses with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, specimen collection, and CLIA-waived testing.
• Prepare, disinfect, sterilize, and maintain exam rooms, equipment, instruments, medications, and supplies.
• Communicate professionally with patients and the care team in person and by phone.
• Perform delegated procedures and specialty-specific duties safely and efficiently.
• Participate in staff meetings, safety rounds, and clinic opening and closing procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current medical assistant certification or written proof of eligibility for an approved certification examination.
• Must obtain an approved medical assistant certification within six months of employment, with up to two test attempts.
• American Heart Association-accredited Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
• Zero to two years of relevant experience and strong computer skills.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow clinical, safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards.

Nice to have

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant training program.
• One to two years of ambulatory care experience.
• Experience with electronic medical records.
