Systems Engineer I (For 2026 Interns Only)

Location: Plano, TX; hybrid environment with occasional travel. U.S. citizenship is required because the role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

What you will do

• Assist with requirements engineering, systems integration, Verification and Validation, and Model Based Systems Engineering activities.
• Support system and decision analysis, technical planning, and risk management under supervision.
• Contribute to architecture and design development, technical monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Support system modeling, simulation, documentation, and baseline development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and development teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–2+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field.
• Basic understanding of systems modeling and simulation tools and multiple engineering principles.
• Conceptual knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation and allocation, systems design, integration, technical risk management, and Verification and Validation.
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary design and development teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Systems engineering internship or cooperative education experience.
• Knowledge of requirements management and system modeling tools such as DOORS, Cameo, or MATLAB.
• Knowledge of classical systems engineering and MBSE design principles.
• INCOSE ASEP experience or certification.
• Experience with baseline maturation, trade studies, analysis of alternatives, or Technical Performance Measurements.
