Dir Security Operations & Engineering (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote - Nationwide, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship, including CPT/OPT sponsorship, is not available. Reliable high-speed wired internet and a suitable home workspace are required.

Base salary: $138,000–$200,100 per year, with eligibility for a bonus program.

What you will do

• Lead multiple security operations and engineering teams, including subordinate managers and professional security staff.
• Oversee cybersecurity monitoring, event analysis, threat identification, investigation, escalation, reporting, and incident response.
• Direct security services and technologies including SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, web application firewalls, and security event correlation platforms.
• Develop security operating procedures, hardening standards, metrics, reporting, and remediation strategies.
• Lead information security and risk projects, audits, regulatory inspections, and collaboration with technology, risk, audit, compliance, business, and third-party stakeholders.
• Manage budgets, staffing plans, performance decisions, coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and professional development.

Requirements

• Significant experience in information security operations, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline.
• 6–8 years of related management experience and experience leading multiple security teams or subordinate managers.
• Experience managing or leading a Security Operations Center or security engineering function.
• Strong knowledge of SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, web application firewalls, security event correlation, access controls, hardening, vulnerability management, and incident handling.
• Experience with security system design, deployment, incident response, project management, third-party providers, and complex security problem solving.
• Ability to communicate technical risks clearly to senior leaders, auditors, clients, end users, and IT staff.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• CISSP, CISM, GCIH, GCIA, CEH, GIAC, or comparable security certification.
• Experience in financial services, another highly regulated industry, or a complex technical environment.
