Staff Silicon Characterization Engineer (RFID/IoT)

What you will do

• Conduct semiconductor device characterization using parameter analyzers, switch matrices, probe stations, and GUI-based control systems.
• Automate characterization, debugging, data collection, and reporting with scripting and improved test methodologies.
• Set up and build custom test hardware and tools, while troubleshooting mechanical and device characterization issues.
• Support field application and sales teams with RMA testing, including I-V tracing, RF sensitivity, and Rp/Cp conductivity measurements.
• Collaborate with Industrialization and Silicon Processing Engineers on EPIC product evaluations and analysis.
• Perform RFID inlay die shear, bend, THT, and TCT testing; document bonded-die microscope images and communicate build status and issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on semiconductor laboratory experience with R&D test equipment, especially Agilent B1500 or Tektronix SCS4200 parameter analyzers.
• Working knowledge of Bipolar and MOS device physics, semiconductor fabrication and processing, and RF principles.
• Experience with test scripting automation using Python, Perl, C++, or similar languages, plus AI assistant or productivity tools.
• Hands-on experience with Tektronix KCON or Agilent EasyExpert Device Char software and MicroManipulator or FormFactor/CascadeTech semi-automated probers.
• Ability to write detailed procedures and reports, troubleshoot mechanical equipment, and manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
