SIPI Characterization Engineer (AI Hardware)

What you will do

• Characterize high-speed SerDes interfaces, including PCIe, Ethernet, and custom protocols.
• Perform BER, eye-diagram, jitter, link-margin, PVT, insertion-loss, return-loss, and crosstalk analysis.
• Measure power-delivery-network impedance, transient noise, voltage droop, resonance, and voltage-regulator response.
• Build scalable electrical-design-validation automation for large numbers of SerDes channels.
• Integrate oscilloscopes, BERTs, VNAs, power analyzers, and other laboratory equipment into automated test flows.
• Correlate simulation with measurement data and provide design recommendations for boards, packages, and silicon.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of industry experience in hardware characterization, signal integrity, power integrity, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Deep knowledge of SerDes architectures, PHY-layer operation, equalization, jitter, BER, eye diagrams, and link-margin analysis.
• Strong understanding of transmission-line theory and power-delivery-network design principles.
• Hands-on proficiency with high-speed electrical laboratory equipment.
• Experience developing test automation, preferably with Python, and correlating simulation and measurement data.

Nice to have

• AI accelerator or GPU system-validation experience.
• PCIe compliance testing and familiarity with JEDEC methodologies.
• Statistical process control or large-scale silicon-characterization experience.
• PCB layout review, advanced package design, die-to-die, chiplet, or multi-chip system experience.
