Mission Video Support Technician (NASA)

Location: Clear Lake, Texas, United States; onsite support at the Johnson Space Center

What you will do

• Monitor and archive video for the International Space Station, Orion, NASA missions, and commercial crew programs.
• Enter metadata into the media asset management system and manage video files.
• Operate video servers, automation systems, and television broadcast equipment.
• Provide back-room support for video downlinks, playbacks, and requested products.
• Edit video, transcode media files, and deliver products digitally and physically to customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, radio/television/film, or a related field, or five years of television industry experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Ability to work rotating shifts covering weekdays, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and collaborate with a team.
• Strong research, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated and dependable, with proficiency in detailed work and file management.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of television industry digital formats, equipment, signals, and distribution.
• Experience with non-linear editing and media file management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
