Staff Software Engineer, SecureAI

Location: Hybrid role based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Annual base salary: CAD 160,000–220,000 for candidates located in Canada

What you will do

• Shape the technical strategy for the Identity Security Fabric and prioritize workstreams for securing AI agents.
• Build the Runtime Policy Decision Point at the Agent Gateway and agent-to-resource connection level.
• Design policy authoring, schema validation, and evaluation using policy engines such as Cedar.
• Validate delegated-agent identities and securely forward acting-user identity to downstream resources.
• Track MCP, OAuth token exchange, and agent identity specifications, contributing production feedback to specifications and reference implementations.
• Develop comprehensive audit logging and improve CI/CD, observability, reliability, documentation, and support processes.

Requirements

• Experience defining scalable backend architectures and integrating complex APIs with modern web technologies.
• Deep expertise building reliable, secure, enterprise-grade software in Java or another type-safe language.
• Strong understanding of web authentication and authorization fundamentals and sensitive-data security.
• Ability to apply AI meaningfully across the software development lifecycle and establish AI-native engineering practices.
• Experience making architectural decisions with lasting, organization-wide impact.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity, authorization, or IAM protocols such as OAuth, OIDC, or SAML.
• Experience with agent frameworks, AI-facing APIs, or LLM developer toolchains.
• Experience leading a team through changes in AI adoption, developer tooling, or engineering culture.
