Location: Milpitas, California, United States; on-site work with some travel to customer sites under 10%

What you will do

• Design and develop mechatronic systems for semiconductor metrology equipment.
• Perform hands-on hardware work and collect data in laboratory and cleanroom environments.
• Conduct data collection, analysis, calibration, and scripting using Python or MATLAB.
• Define system integration, testing, and troubleshooting plans.
• Translate customer and system requirements into test plans, engineering models, and robust hardware designs.
• Execute experimental design and hardware-in-the-loop experiments to retire design risks.

Requirements

• Doctorate with 1+ years of related experience, Master's degree with 4 years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree with 6 years of related experience.
• Strong experience in requirements definition and precision motion system design.
• Experience with motor and air-bearing development, CFD-based thermal and flow analysis, and experimental validation of complex mechatronic systems.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
• Ability to perform hands-on work in laboratory and cleanroom environments.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of numerical optimization and image processing.
