TL;DR
Sr Engineering PMO Lead - Operation & Analytics (Medical Technology): Improving engineering portfolio governance, resource planning, reporting, and operational maturity across regulated medical technology programs with an accent on portfolio analytics, executive dashboards, and standardized PMO processes. Focus on leading capacity planning, project prioritization, cross-functional governance, and data-driven decision making across engineering and product development.

Location: On-site in Irvine, California, United States

Annual salary: $160,000–$180,000, plus eligibility for up to a 10% annual bonus

What you will do

  • Develop, implement, standardize, and continuously improve PMO methodologies, governance processes, tools, and execution frameworks.
  • Translate engineering portfolio strategy into scalable processes, analytics, governance, and execution practices.
  • Lead project intake, prioritization, portfolio reviews, capacity planning, and resource forecasting.
  • Build and maintain portfolio management frameworks, operating procedures, templates, governance standards, and best practices.
  • Develop executive dashboards, portfolio reporting, and performance metrics to support data-driven decisions.
  • Partner with Project Management and cross-functional Engineering, Software, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Clinical, and Product Management stakeholders.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in regulated technical product development or technical program management.
  • Experience developing and implementing project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and portfolio management processes.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional engineering programs and portfolios.
  • Experience with executive dashboards, portfolio reporting, and performance metrics using Power BI or similar tools.
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, and project or portfolio management platforms, with strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience building, transforming, or maturing an Engineering PMO.
  • Experience with integrated hardware, software, firmware, systems, or algorithm development programs.
  • Experience with portfolio planning, engineering resource capacity planning, and investment prioritization.
  • PMP, PgMP, PMI-PMOCP, SAFe, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent certification.
