TL;DR
Manager, Program Management (Spatial Biology): Leading the RNAscope project portfolio and Newark-based PMO across new product introductions, sustaining initiatives, process improvements, and strategic programs with an accent on portfolio governance, cross-functional execution, and regulated life sciences products. Focus on prioritizing complex initiatives, managing risks and dependencies, guiding commercialization stage-gates, and developing a team of project managers.

Location: Newark, California, United States. This is an onsite position and requires work authorization in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Salary: $115,100–$189,200 per year

What you will do

  • Lead the RNAscope project portfolio and Newark-based Project Management Office.
  • Oversee RUO, OEM, and IVD new product introduction projects, sustaining work, operational initiatives, process improvements, and strategic programs.
  • Manage portfolio prioritization, capacity planning, risks, dependencies, milestones, and executive reporting.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through product commercialization and stage-gate processes from concept through post-launch follow-up.
  • Supervise and develop a small team of Project Managers through coaching, workload allocation, and performance support.
  • Coordinate execution across Product Management, R&D, Operations, Quality Assurance, Commercial, and other functions.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a scientific or related field, with an understanding of spatial genomics and in-vitro diagnostics.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience with complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience managing multiple projects or portfolios, establishing governance, balancing priorities, and driving decisions with incomplete information.
  • Experience in life sciences, biotechnology, diagnostics, or medical device product development is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of quality and regulatory practices and regulated products such as GPR, ASR, or IVDR.
  • Advanced project planning, risk management, facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.

Nice to have

  • PMP, PgMP, or an equivalent project or program management certification.
  • Experience with project management tools and product commercialization processes.
