Staff Project Manager Advanced Technology (Robotics)

Location: Hybrid work in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, or Gières, France, with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite; up to 20% domestic and international travel.

Salary: $109,000–$174,800 per year.

What you will do

• Manage the advanced technology pre-charter intake funnel, including opportunity assessment, prioritization, maturity tracking, and transition into New Product Development.
• Own project charters, scope baselines, work breakdown structures, integrated master schedules, critical paths, and milestone readiness.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, earned value tracking, resource planning, RAID logs, change control, and project escalations.
• Lead cross-functional core teams spanning software, mechanical, electrical, systems engineering, clinical, quality, regulatory, and external development partners.
• Provide project dashboards, executive updates, decision briefs, KPI reporting, and stakeholder communications.
• Lead project closure, lessons learned, final reporting, and transition to sustaining or operational teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of project management experience in regulated Class II or Class III product development environments, preferably medical devices, robotics, advanced technology, or software-enabled products.
• Experience with phase-gate execution, design controls, and quality management systems, including FDA 21 CFR 820.30 and ISO 13485.
• Experience managing complex cross-functional software, systems, and hardware programs across requirements, architecture, verification and validation, clinical, quality, and regulatory deliverables.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Lean, SAFe, or hybrid delivery models, plus project controls, integrated scheduling, forecasting, earned value management, and RAID management.
• Ability to work onsite at least 3 days per week in Boston or Gières, France, with up to 20% domestic and international travel.

Nice to have

• Experience with MS Project, Smartsheet, Planisware/Cadence PPM, Jira, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with robotics, robotic automation, robotic control software, SAP Product Lifecycle Management, or data science.
• Experience collaborating with surgeons, clinical staff, field sales, commercial education, professional education, and third-party development partners.
