Coding Analyst, HB Coding-Part Time (Remote - Must Reside in IL, IN, IA, WI, MO) - Day Shift 20 Hours (Healthcare Coding)

Location: Remote; must reside in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, or Missouri. Day shift, 20 hours per week.

Salary: $27.32–$38.24 per hour.

What you will do

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for outpatient visits and physician encounters.
• Review medical records and documentation to code diagnoses, procedures, and evaluation and management services.
• Resolve NCCI, NCD/LCD, and other outpatient claim-edit failures.
• Apply coding guidelines, Coding Clinic guidance, CPT Assistant instructions, and coding conventions.
• Collaborate with Patient Accounting, Registration, case managers, and clinical departments on coding and reimbursement issues.
• Meet established coding productivity and quality standards, including a minimum accuracy target of 95%.

Requirements

• Three years of experience in an acute healthcare setting.
• One of the following credentials: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, COC, or CPC.
• Membership in AHIMA or AAPC.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease processes, pharmacology, medical terminology, and outpatient coding standards.
• Residence in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, or Missouri is required for the remote arrangement.

Nice to have

• RHIA or RHIT combined with CCS, CCS-P, COC, or CPC.
• Four years of experience in an acute healthcare setting.
• Four years of experience in a professional setting.
