Application Engineer II (HVAC/Building Automation)

Location: King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, United States. Work onsite Monday through Thursday; choose the work location on Fridays according to work requirements.

Annual base salary: $91,516.66–$148,200.00. Incentive eligible; not eligible for sales commission.

What you will do

• Design building automation and direct digital control systems for varied building types.
• Review contracts, mechanical plans, specifications, estimates, equipment submittals, and job survey information for automation system design.
• Create installation, submittal, and as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and transition documentation for field service.
• Develop advanced sequences of operation that meet project requirements and design cost-effective control solutions.
• Support cost estimates, wiring and programming, electrical terminations, commissioning, graphics development, testing, and startup.
• Advise other engineers, maintain product and third-party device knowledge, and resolve customer concerns.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, construction, engineering technology, or a related field; alternatively, 3+ years of HVAC project management or estimating experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Practical experience is considered for candidates without a four-year degree.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems, building automation systems, and temperature controls.
• Experience with a drafting or design program and knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of IT infrastructure and network architecture.
• Knowledge of industry-standard protocols and integration requirements is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with new construction, renovation and retrofit, performance contracting, and service project management.
• Knowledge of Trane Controls products and applicable third-party devices.
