Mechanical Engineering R&D - Additive Manufacturing

Location: Sant Cugat del Valles, Barcelona, Spain. Hybrid work model combining home office and office work.

What you will do

• Own mechanical subsystem development from concept generation through design, prototyping, validation, and production release.
• Perform engineering analyses, tolerance stack-ups, and design trade-off studies.
• Define, execute, and analyze experiments to validate designs and investigate technical issues.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement robust engineering solutions based on test data and analytical reasoning.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, firmware, thermal, materials, quality, operations, and other engineering functions.
• Lead technical discussions, design reviews, continuous improvement activities, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Typically 5–8 years of experience in mechanical product development, preferably involving complex electromechanical systems or industrial equipment.
• Experience taking products or subsystems from concept through validation and release into production.
• Knowledge of mechanical design, product development, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, GD&T, CAD, manufacturing processes, and engineering data analysis.
• Experience with root cause analysis, experimental design, technical decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to work independently on complex engineering assignments and provide guidance to less experienced engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with PTC Creo.
• Knowledge of hirify.global additive manufacturing and LF PLC.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools to improve engineering productivity, technical documentation, data analysis, or software development workflows.
