Lead, New Product Development Engineer - Global Capacity

Location: Billerica, Massachusetts, United States; global travel required for site evaluations and strategic manufacturing initiatives.

Salary: $112,000–$150,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop medium- and long-range global manufacturing capacity plans aligned with business growth and customer demand.
• Build capacity models, scenario analyses, demand forecasts, and planning tools for investment prioritization.
• Lead manufacturing footprint optimization, network planning, regionalization, site expansion, and capacity balancing.
• Evaluate site capabilities, scalability, readiness, equipment constraints, labor requirements, infrastructure, and capital needs.
• Support new product introductions, manufacturing transfers, production ramps, capacity expansions, business continuity planning, and high-volume manufacturing programs.
• Prepare business cases, ROI analyses, capital expenditure recommendations, executive reports, and risk-mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical, mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering, supply chain management, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, industrial engineering, supply chain, capacity planning, or manufacturing strategy within a global manufacturing environment.
• Experience with capacity planning, manufacturing footprint strategy, network optimization, factory expansions, manufacturing transfers, NPI, production ramp-up, and high-volume manufacturing.
• Expertise in capacity modeling, scenario planning, demand forecasting, resource planning, manufacturing economics, cost modeling, and network analysis.
• Experience developing business cases, CapEx/CEA requests, ROI analyses, and capacity investment strategies.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills; Power BI experience is ideal.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor, advanced technology, electronics, medical device, specialty chemicals, or related high-tech manufacturing.
• Experience with SAP, MES, supply chain planning, business intelligence systems, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Theory of Constraints.
