Product Development Engineering Specialist (Consumer Electronics)

Location: Onsite at hirify.global Center in Maplewood, Minnesota, United States. Travel may include up to 10% domestic or international travel. Relocation assistance is not authorized.

Expected compensation: $164,612–$201,193 annually, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Support global and regional new product introduction efforts to scale and commercialize adhesive tapes for the consumer electronics industry.
• Lead or support cross-functional teams working on cost, quality, service, safety, and operational improvement projects.
• Manage product and process documentation, experiments, change requests, quality investigations, CAPAs, and other operational changes.
• Identify cost savings and supply chain improvement opportunities and help prioritize them within product sub-teams.
• Support quality teams in reducing customer complaints and investigating unexpected product or process issues.
• Work with manufacturing plants to resolve safety issues, prevent incidents, and develop long-term operational strategies; participate in on-call support for severe service or quality issues.

Requirements

• PhD in a science or engineering discipline, completed and verified before starting.
• At least four years of experience in areas such as gathering material process data, computer-aided design, product information, or material property information.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
• Experience with manufacturing processes, including coating and drying of films, high-shear mixing, or process optimization.
• Experience using statistical tools for problem-solving and applying Six Sigma methodology.
• At least three years of experience with new product development or commercialization teams and quality improvement or cost reduction projects.

Nice to have

• Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, or Materials Science.
• Experience with unit cost modeling and additional manufacturing processes.
