Staff Technical Product Manager, Special Projects (AI)

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. The role may require up to 10% travel and occasional overtime or weekend work for critical mission milestones. Applicants must be U.S. persons or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.

Salary: $156,000–$221,000.40 USD per year.

What you will do

• Lead high-priority technology initiatives from problem definition and solution design through development, deployment, support, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with CXO, Engineering, People, Legal, Operations, HR, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and Environment, Health & Safety stakeholders.
• Design and develop internal tools, applications, integrations, workflow automations, and AI-enabled solutions using APIs, large language models, retrieval techniques, and agents.
• Architect cloud-based solutions across AWS and AWS GovCloud, including data flows, security controls, testing plans, monitoring, and support models.
• Evaluate configuration, integration, automation, custom development, and acquisition options based on scalability, complexity, maintainability, cost, and business value.
• Manage priorities, dependencies, risks, roadmaps, documentation, deployment, troubleshooting, and transition of prototypes into production-ready enterprise capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience, plus 6+ years in technical product management, software development, solutions engineering, systems integration, automation, or a related role.
• Experience independently designing and delivering technical solutions from requirements through production deployment and support.
• Hands-on experience with workflow automation, system integrations, scripts, lightweight applications, APIs, JSON, webhooks, authentication, and cloud services.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or a similar programming or scripting language.
• Strong understanding of software development concepts, system architecture, data flows, application integrations, project management, and communication with non-technical stakeholders.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements and be able to work onsite in Long Beach; ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Apps Script, Google Workspace, n8n, AWS services, AWS GovCloud, serverless technologies, relational databases, SQL, and data integration.
• Experience building generative AI, large language model, AI agent, retrieval-augmented generation, or AI API solutions.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, testing, observability, enterprise platforms, and business-critical systems such as HRIS, LMS, ATS, EHS, or QMS.
• Experience in regulated, aerospace and defense, manufacturing, or other technically complex environments.
