Freelance Event Specialist (Events)

Location: On-site in Sydney, Australia; candidates must already be based in Sydney. This is a per-event contract role with local travel, flexible hours, and occasional nights and weekends. No relocation packages are offered.

What you will do

• Attend virtual planning meetings with corporate, nonprofit, venue, and hirify.global partners.
• Set up, operate, and close out in-person volunteering, team-building, and social impact events.
• Lead onsite coordination, align staff and partner responsibilities, and represent hirify.global at events.
• Manage guest check-in and provide a welcoming, high-quality customer experience.
• Resolve issues involving supplies, staffing, technology, and event logistics, escalating when needed.
• Share event updates, photos, and videos, then clean the site, pack materials, and arrange return shipping.

Requirements

• Must be based in Sydney, Australia.
• Fluent English and strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Experience delivering complex large-scale events and smaller executive-level events.
• Experience with group facilitation, managing group dynamics, and working with large crowds.
• Resourceful, organized, detail-oriented, self-directed, and able to solve problems under pressure.
• Available for flexible per-event contract work, including nights, weekends, local travel, and physical tasks such as lifting up to 30 lbs and standing for extended periods.
