Senior Java Backend Engineer (Reactive & Agentic AI)

Location: Rose Garden, Phoenix or Charlotte, Brevard

Rate: $110.00 per hour

What you will do

• Consult on complex Software Engineering initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning requirements.
• Analyze multifaceted and long-term engineering challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of technical and operational factors.
• Contribute to solutions that meet functional, policy, procedural, and compliance requirements.
• Build and support reactive, event-driven backend services and data pipelines.
• Collaborate strategically with client personnel.

Requirements

• 4+ years of Java experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
• 2+ years of Python experience focused on backend or data-driven development.
• Deep understanding of Reactive Programming and WebFlux.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, Flink, MongoDB, Oracle, and RESTful APIs.
• 4–5+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent experience, training, military experience, or education.
• Ability to work at the specified Phoenix or Charlotte-area location.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies.
• Exposure to LLMs, agentic architectures, and prompt engineering.
• Experience with ADK, Playbook, or similar agentic frameworks.
• WF experience or prior ADK/LLM exposure.
