Accounts Receivable Specialist (AI)

Location: Remote in Toronto or Vancouver, Canada

Salary: CAD 55,000–75,000 base salary annually

What you will do

• Manage the shared billing inbox and respond to internal and external billing inquiries within established service levels.
• Coordinate customer billing setup, vendor forms, portal configuration, billing contacts, and sales tax exemption certificates.
• Submit invoices through customer portals and proactively manage assigned accounts receivable portfolios.
• Apply payments, credit memos, and rebills; reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies, overpayments, and refunds.
• Prepare aging reports, monitor cancellations and dunning automation, and support bad debt reserves and write-offs.
• Collaborate with Customer Success, Sales, Finance, and senior leadership on escalations, reporting, and special projects.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, billing, or a related finance role.
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, LOOKUP functions, PivotTables, and SUMIF.
• Experience with vendor portals and payment platforms, plus an understanding of basic accounting and billing practices.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and ability to manage confidential information.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative SaaS environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with NetSuite, Tesorio, Maxio, Salesforce, or Avalara.
• Familiarity with subscription-based service contracts.
• Basic knowledge of AI tools and willingness to adopt them for process efficiency.
