What you will do
- Operate combined-cycle generating facilities, power plant equipment, turbines, boilers, generators, and auxiliary systems through control room interfaces or locally.
- Monitor plant operations, take readings, maintain logs, document equipment problems, and prepare incident reports.
- Operate valves, circuit breakers, generator breakers, and high-voltage disconnects for system operation and isolation.
- Coordinate shift operations, maintenance activities, contractors, commercial operations, energy-market requirements, and outside entities.
- Direct employees and contracting crews, conduct shift musters, job briefings, safety analyses, and contractor orientations.
- Follow environmental permits, regulatory procedures, lockout/tagout, confined-space, hot-work, and other safety requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Active Massachusetts Second Class Engineer's License.
- Must obtain a Massachusetts Grade 2 Industrial Wastewater Treatment License within the first 6 months of employment.
- At least 6 years of experience operating gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, heat recovery steam generators, high-pressure boilers, compressors, water-treatment equipment, and auxiliary systems.
- Ability to instruct and direct others, read and interpret P&IDs, use basic computer systems, and understand the relationship between plant operations and energy markets.
- Must pass company-provided physical and drug screening and qualify to wear a respirator.

- Work involves elevated platforms, confined spaces, uneven surfaces, temperature extremes, high noise, high-pressure steam lines, rotating equipment, and dusty or dirty environments.
