Associate Automation Specialist (MedTech)

Location: Anasco, Puerto Rico, United States of America; onsite, shift-based work including first, second, and third shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime

What you will do

• Provide hands-on automation and operational technology support for manufacturing operations during assigned shifts.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, sensors, communication systems, computers, networks, and automated equipment.
• Perform system checks, approved resets, backups, basic testing, configuration, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
• Document work, communicate equipment status, and provide clear information during shift handoffs.
• Identify recurring equipment issues and communicate opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Support automation projects, equipment upgrades, testing, and startup activities while collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, IT, and suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field, or expected degree completion by December 2026.
• Zero to two years of relevant experience; internships, apprenticeships, co-ops, academic projects, laboratory work, maintenance, and other hands-on technical experience are valued.
• Availability for overtime and various schedules, including first, second, and third shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of safety, quality, change-control, data-integrity, and cybersecurity requirements for equipment and OT systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with PLC or industrial control systems, HMI, SCADA, industrial equipment, sensors, instrumentation, robotics, electrical systems, or communications.
• Experience with computer hardware, software, networking, technical troubleshooting, documentation, or equipment maintenance.
• Exposure to Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to GMP, validation, data integrity, industrial networking, OT systems, data collection, or reporting systems.
