Controls Engineer (GPS)

Location: Onsite in Spring Hill, Tennessee, United States; full-time presence at the assigned facility is required.

What you will do

• Configure, program, test, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and related components.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and testing for control systems, panels, and production equipment.
• Diagnose manufacturing-process and equipment deficiencies and develop corrective solutions.
• Support manufacturing, maintenance, and quality teams directly on the production floor.
• Improve quality, cost, responsiveness, and safety through continuous improvement and problem-solving.
• Integrate new technologies, define project scope and timelines, and coordinate resources and OEMs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of controls engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechatronics engineering, or equivalent automation-controls experience.
• Experience with Profibus, ProfiNet, TCP/IP, and EtherNet/IP industrial networking protocols.
• Experience with Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, Rockwell ControlLogix, and/or Siemens 300 PLC families.
• Experience with Siemens G120/S120 and Rockwell PowerFlex/Kinetix servo drive systems.
• Overtime and off-shift production support are required; GM immigration sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Vision camera experience.
• Fanuc or Siemens CNC experience.
• Fanuc robot programming experience.
