Quality Engineering Manager (Automotive Manufacturing): Leading quality engineering execution for high-volume full-size SUV manufacturing at Arlington Assembly with an accent on APQP, PFMEA, technical problem solving, and variation reduction. Focus on solving complex manufacturing quality problems, preparing launches and engineering changes, and aligning cross-functional teams around durable corrective actions.

Location: Onsite at the GM Arlington Facility in Arlington, Texas, on a full-time basis. Travel required: less than 25%. Relocation benefits are available for qualifying candidates.

What you will do

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of quality engineers.
  • Oversee APQP initiatives for new product launches and engineering changes from design through production.
  • Apply PFMEA, control plans, technical problem-solving methods, and root-cause analysis to reduce manufacturing quality risks.
  • Manage JIRA PRTS issue tracking, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
  • Lead variation-reduction initiatives using statistical analysis, SPC, and lean principles.
  • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams while monitoring quality indicators and reporting trends to senior management.

Requirements

  • Full-time onsite availability at the Arlington, Texas facility is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; an engineering degree is preferred.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience, preferably in automotive or a related field.
  • Knowledge of APQP and strong expertise in PFMEA and control plan development.
  • Experience with technical problem solving, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, variation reduction, and SPC.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree.
  • Leadership or management experience with demonstrated people-management ability.
  • Experience using JIRA PRTS for issue management.
