Process Engineer (Manufacturing): Improving manufacturing processes and supporting new equipment and process introduction with an accent on safety, quality, yield, throughput, and process reliability. Focus on leading continuous improvement projects, reducing process variation, analyzing operational data, and developing sustainable corrective actions for a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
Location: Onsite in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation. Occasional weekend support is required after training, with up to 10% travel. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

is a fourth-generation family-owned manufacturer, with Charter Wire supplying engineered shaped wire, cold finished bar, and cold-headed and stamped components to multiple industries.
What you will do
- Provide hands-on technical support on the production floor, troubleshoot processes, and participate in multiple improvement teams.
- Evaluate existing processes, plan new processes and equipment, and manage operational improvement projects.
- Lead corrective and preventive action teams addressing customer complaints, internal quality issues, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Reduce process variation using process control methods and manage data collection, analysis, and operational metrics.
- Define and document standard operating procedures and operating instructions for new and modified processes.
- Oversee heat treat procedures while supporting environmental, quality, and safety management requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Three or more years of experience improving processes in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and problem-solving methods, including Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma.
- Knowledge of SPC, PFMEA, process control plans, process flow diagrams, and part routings.
- Basic 2D/3D CAD skills and knowledge of manufacturing processes, layouts, assembly, and production equipment.
- U.S. work authorization for any employer is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
- Five or more years leading safety, quality, and process improvement teams.
- Five or more years of heat treat operations experience.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification and experience applying lean or continuous improvement concepts.
- Experience with value stream improvement, Kaizen project management, SolidWorks, process mapping software, or filament-based 3D printing.
- Experience leveraging AI in a production environment.
