Data Python Scientist (AI)

Location: Dearborn, Michigan, United States; hybrid position requiring onsite work four or more days per week.

Base salary: $99,600–$166,600 or $115,000–$192,900 annually, depending on salary grade, skills, experience, and job scope.

What you will do

• Develop specifications, acceptance criteria, and architectural guidelines for AI-assisted software development.
• Evaluate AI coding agents, reusable prompts, agentic workflows, MCP integrations, and evaluation frameworks.
• Design and maintain GCP CI/CD pipelines, environment automation, self-service deployment tools, and reusable templates.
• Implement observability, feature flags, automated testing, security scanning, static analysis, and rollback capabilities.
• Build production-grade Python backend services, secure versioned APIs, and scalable data models using BigQuery and PostgreSQL.
• Develop data and machine learning pipelines and collaborate with data scientists, technical teams, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience in data science, data engineering, or software engineering, including 3+ years operating cloud-based workloads.
• Strong Python skills and experience with data science tools, data pipelines, analytical solutions, and CI/CD processes.
• Experience with GCP, BigQuery, data modeling, Git, cloud infrastructure, observability, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents and validating AI-generated outputs.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with spec-driven or AI-assisted development practices.
• GCP certification in data engineering, cloud development, or DevOps.
• Experience in platform engineering, developer experience, or DORA metrics.
• Background in automotive, manufacturing, or product-cost analytics.
