Principal Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Dearborn, Michigan; must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the worksite. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $165,967.92–$182,133.96 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, fine-tune, and deploy end-to-end machine learning algorithms, including identity resolution, anomaly detection, and predictive modeling.
• Lead data quality initiatives across large-scale data warehouses and data lakes, including monitoring, cleansing, standardization, validation, and root-cause analysis.
• Develop internal tools, libraries, automation scripts, data lineage capabilities, metadata management systems, and automated data quality checks.
• Manage data ingestion and transformation into BigQuery and other data platforms, optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines, storage, latency, and resource utilization.
• Build Docker images, automate orchestration and scheduling, and leverage Generative AI and LLMs to solve data platform and warehouse problems.
• Partner with data engineers, architects, privacy, product, and engineering teams; lead projects, mentor engineers, and translate business needs into technical specifications.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in data science or advanced data engineering and in the offered role or a related occupation.
• At least 5 years of Python development using Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn for data manipulation, analysis, and scripting.
• At least 5 years of experience designing, implementing, and deploying machine learning models for complex data problems, including performance and accuracy optimization at scale.
• At least 5 years of experience researching, evaluating, and integrating foundational and cutting-edge machine learning capabilities, plus 3 years of SQL experience including query tuning.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to work in a hybrid arrangement near Dearborn, Michigan.
