TL;DR
Senior Specialist, Technical Training - Avionics Instructor (Aerospace): Developing, delivering, and evaluating avionics and mission-systems training for maintenance technicians, flight crews, and support personnel with an accent on Gulfstream G550, Bombardier Global 6500, and other aircraft platforms. Focus on teaching aircraft-system theory, maintenance, troubleshooting, and creating compliant courseware in collaboration with engineering, quality assurance, vendors, and customers.

Location: Rockwall, Texas, onsite. The schedule is 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, with 10% travel and possible travel to austere locations.

What you will do

  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate comprehensive training programs for maintenance technicians, flight crews, and support personnel.
  • Conduct training in classroom, simulator, and aircraft environments.
  • Teach the theory, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of avionics and mission systems.
  • Develop courseware and training materials from engineering documentation, field-service requirements, and vendor specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, team members, and customer representatives to maintain accurate, approved training content.
  • Support aircraft maintenance operations, including possible travel to austere locations and extended work hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and at least 4 years of related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, at least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience with avionics and mission systems, preferably in a military or aerospace environment.
  • Ability to obtain a US TS/SCI security clearance; security clearances may only be granted to US citizens.
  • Strong technical knowledge, communication, and presentation skills.

Nice to have

  • Active US Secret security clearance.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification or FAA Inspection Authorization.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  • Experience supporting Part 145 Repair Station training programs.
  • Experience with EASA Part-66/Part-147 training requirements.
