Junior PR & Communications Manager

Location: Hamburg or Berlin, Germany; hybrid work. Work from abroad is available for up to 30 calendar days per year.

What you will do

• Execute day-to-day PR and communications activities across EMEA, focusing on Germany and the UK.
• Draft, edit, and tailor press releases, media pitches, op-eds, expert commentary, Q&As, and briefing materials in German and English.
• Plan media relations activities, monitor trends, identify PR opportunities, and secure earned media coverage.
• Support integrated communications, thought-leadership, corporate announcement, and executive communications campaigns.
• Build relationships with journalists, editors, and industry influencers across business, technology, national, trade, and podcast media.
• Create executive LinkedIn content and prepare executives, experts, and researchers for interviews and speaking engagements.

Requirements

• 2–3+ years of experience in PR, corporate communications, brand communications, journalism, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
• Strong writing, editing, media pitching, and journalist relationship-building skills.
• Understanding of the German media landscape and initial knowledge of the wider EMEA region.
• Ability to turn complex information, products, and business topics into clear, relevant stories.
• Proactive, collaborative, and reliable approach to cross-functional work.

Nice to have

• Experience in a global organization or communications agency.
• Experience with data analysis, data-led storytelling, executive communications, or thought-leadership programs.
• Curiosity about business, technology, AI, and data topics.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled communications and relationships with UK journalists.
