TL;DR
Director Corporate Affairs, Circular Economy, Nature and Packaging Policy (Sustainability/Packaging): Leading global policy stakeholder engagement, regulatory readiness, and strategic partnerships across circular economy, nature, and packaging policy with an accent on global advocacy, packaging regulation, and sustainability strategy. Focus on assessing emerging policy impacts, building alliances with industry and NGOs, and coordinating external positioning across markets.

Location: Stockholm, Sweden preferred; other hirify.global office locations in Europe are possible, including Arganda del Rey, Spain; Helsinki, Finland; Hochheim, Germany; and London, United Kingdom. Global travel of approximately 20% may be required.

What you will do

  • Monitor global policy, regulatory developments, and emerging trends in circular economy, nature, and packaging, assessing business impacts and proposing response strategies.
  • Develop and deploy the global policy toolbox and innovative initiatives supporting business strategy, research, development, and innovation.
  • Lead internal governance and regulatory risk readiness, ensuring relevant functions can respond to policy changes.
  • Coordinate with Packaging Solutions, Development and Technology, Supplier Management, Sustainability, and Communications teams.
  • Build relationships with multilateral organizations, think tanks, civil society, industry partners, NGOs, and government stakeholders.
  • Lead advocacy campaigns, external positioning, strategic collaborations, industry association participation, and capability building across market teams.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in economics, international affairs, environmental engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in sustainability or public affairs, with specialization in circular economy, nature, or packaging issues.
  • Global experience in a multinational packaging or FMCG company, consultancy, or public affairs firm.
  • Understanding of circular economy and packaging issues across different geographies; technical knowledge of packaging materials, packaging, and recycling is an asset.
  • Expertise in developing innovative partnerships and working with senior management and business leaders.
  • High-level English proficiency in written and spoken communication is required. Spanish is an asset.
