Test Engineer I (Materials Testing)

Location: Marietta office, Marietta, Georgia, United States. This is an onsite laboratory position. U.S. Persons only due to ITAR-controlled information; eligible candidates must be U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees in the United States.

What you will do

• Conduct destructive, optical, and other materials tests on materials, components, and finished products.
• Operate tensile and compression frames, impact testers, hardness testers, microscopes, and specialized laboratory equipment.
• Record test data, observations, and results in detailed reports.
• Troubleshoot testing equipment and data issues to maintain accuracy and reliability.
• Ensure testing activities comply with industry standards, regulations, safety guidelines, and client procedures.
• Collaborate with metallurgy, chemistry, environmental, machine shop, and quality-control teams while managing projects and client deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical science.
• 0–2 years of experience in a materials testing laboratory.
• Analytical, mathematical, scientific, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strong organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices, laboratory ISO procedures, and process safety procedures.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR requirements.
