Receiving Inspector III (Mechanical Components/AS9100)

What you will do

• Perform advanced visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of incoming mechanical and electronic components against AS9100 standards, engineering drawings, and purchase orders.
• Inspect soldered and electronic assemblies using J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 requirements.
• Program and operate Smartscope and/or CMM equipment and use precision measurement tools for automated and dimensional inspections.
• Document non-conforming materials through NCRs, segregate affected components, and support Quality Engineering verification activities.
• Maintain inspection records, certification packs, reports, and traceability documentation for audits and long-term storage.
• Mentor Level I and II inspectors and contribute to inspection-process improvements and QMS compliance.

Requirements

• US citizenship or qualifying US-person status is required due to US Government contractual and export-control requirements.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical inspection, quality assurance, or a related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with Smartscope and/or CMM, precision inspection tools, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
• Knowledge of aerospace material traceability and documentation, including Certificates of Conformance and FAIRs.
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 25 lb and stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Technical certifications in quality inspection, GD&T, or Smartscope programming.
• Training or certification in J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610.

Culture & Benefits

• Weekend schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, working 12 hours per day.
• 36 hours are worked each week, with 40 hours paid.
• Work is primarily performed in a temperature-controlled receiving inspection area, with some outdoor activities and possible warehouse noise or temperature variation.
