Focus on programming SmartScope or CMM systems, managing non-conformances, documenting inspection results, and resolving quality issues with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams.
Location: Hollister, California, United States. Weekend shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 12 hours per day; 36 hours worked and 40 hours paid weekly.
Hourly salary: $19.33–$35.83 USD, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do
- Perform advanced visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of incoming mechanical components, subassemblies, and materials.
- Operate and program SmartScope, CMMs, and other precision measurement equipment using engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Verify supplier certifications, material test reports, certificates of conformance, and traceability documentation.
- Identify, isolate, and document non-conforming materials; generate Non-Conformance Reports.
- Maintain inspection records and quality-system data, prepare reports, and support audits.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams while mentoring Level I inspectors.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Person or obtain the required U.S. government export authorizations; ongoing employment depends on authorization.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–5 years of experience in mechanical inspection, quality assurance, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience operating and programming SmartScope or a similar multi-sensor measurement system.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications and understand GD&T.
- Experience with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, material traceability, and aerospace documentation such as CoCs and FAIRs.
Nice to have
- Technical certification or training in mechanical inspection or quality assurance.
- Experience programming and operating a CMM.
- Familiarity with J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 for electronic and soldered assemblies.
