Head of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Practice (AI, cloud architecture, machine learning): Leading AI practice development, R&D, client AI project delivery, solution architecture, and technical consulting with an accent on generative AI, cloud deployment, and organizational AI standards. Focus on defining architecture visions, overseeing complex AI delivery, mentoring teams, and leading client discovery, solution design, and pre-sales activities.
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina; 100% remote telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the United States.

What you will do
- Lead AI practice development and AI community initiatives.
- Conduct and manage AI research and development projects.
- Define AI tooling standards, security practices, knowledge bases, grades, and assessment criteria.
- Oversee client AI project delivery, audits, issue resolution, staffing, and team mentoring.
- Lead internal AI solution development and define the architecture vision.
- Support business development through client discovery, solution scoping, technical interviews, pre-sales, and solution presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree with suitable experience is also accepted.
- 8 years of progressive software engineering experience, or 3 years with a master’s degree.
- Experience with system architecture and software design tools including C4 Model, UML, PlantUML, and Draw.io.
- Experience with AWS and Azure for AI solution architecture and deployment.
- Experience leading technical teams and overseeing delivery with CI/CD and containerization tools including GitHub Actions, Docker, Jenkins, and TeamCity.
- Experience with technical consulting, pre-sales, Jira, Confluence, AI/ML technologies, generative AI methodologies, Whisper, and Python for AI/ML development.
