Security Architect, Product Architecture

Location: Hybrid role based in West Greenwich, Rhode Island, United States; candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance and regularly collaborate in person. Travel of up to 15% may be required.

What you will do

• Define security architecture standards and reusable guardrails for cloud-native, hybrid, and on-premises products.
• Conduct security architecture reviews and threat modeling throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Guide identity and access management, encryption, secure coding, API security, container security, and cloud security posture management.
• Integrate automated security testing and monitoring into CI/CD pipelines and support secure microservices architecture.
• Align product designs with OWASP, NIST, GDPR, FedRAMP, ISO 27001, and other applicable requirements.
• Partner with architecture, engineering, DevOps, product management, and customer technical teams on deployments, documentation, and critical security issues.

Requirements

• At least eight years of experience in security architecture, preferably in a product development environment.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
• Experience designing security solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments, including Azure, AWS, or comparable platforms.
• Expertise in container security, microservices, cryptography, identity and access management, public key infrastructure, and secure API design.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring, JPA or Hibernate, RESTful APIs, Maven or Gradle, and unit and integration testing.
• Strong communication, architectural decision-making, stakeholder collaboration, and hands-on engineering skills; willingness to travel up to 15%.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, Azure security certification, or comparable credential.
• Experience with Terraform, ARM, Bicep, CloudFormation, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and other container orchestration technologies.
