TL;DR
Project Manager (Nuclear Decommissioning) (Nuclear Decommissioning/Demolition): Leading the delivery of major nuclear decommissioning and demolition packages at Dungeness with an accent on safe delivery, regulatory compliance, radiological waste, asbestos, and NEC4 contract management. Focus on coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams, managing radiological, structural, and environmental risks, and resolving complex programme and delivery challenges.

Location: Dungeness, United Kingdom; on-site work at a nuclear licensed site

What you will do

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of major nuclear decommissioning and demolition work packages.
  • Manage subcontractors and specialist demolition contractors, ensuring safe systems of work and quality outputs.
  • Oversee building deplanting, radiological waste treatment and disposal, demolition, asbestos surveying, strip-out, and disposal.
  • Coordinate engineering, construction, radiological protection, commercial, planning, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Manage programme, cost, change, risk, reporting, project records, and NEC4 requirements including early warnings and compensation events.
  • Lead QESH performance, project management planning, RAMS, temporary works coordination, safety leadership, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • MIDE or CCDO qualification
  • 10+ years of experience in major construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience delivering demolition or deconstruction projects, preferably in nuclear decommissioning.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, project risk, commercial management, and sequencing.
  • Experience working on nuclear licensed sites with knowledge of nuclear licensing, safety cases, regulatory frameworks, radioactive waste, decontamination, and asbestos requirements.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to manage contractors and influence senior stakeholders and regulators.

Nice to have

  • Degree, HNC/HND qualification, or relevant apprenticeship-level training.
  • Experience managing major subcontract and direct works packages.
